First Amendment Gallery is proud to present Learning Curve, a project-space solo exhibit by Riley Holloway. The Dallas-based painter conceptualized Learning Curve as a series to encapsulate his pre-existing practice, but the paintings became a meditation on escaping the pressures and expectations of others.

Holloway’s reactive practice changed over the course of this project through his use of new painting media and slightly differed approaches to starting a piece. By entering the process with curiosity, each painting in Learning Curve contains not only Holloway’s distinct figurative style, but also new situations and characters that helped him fall in love with painting again.

Learning Curve opens February 2nd 12-10pm and will be on view through Friday, February 22nd at First Amendment Gallery located at 1000 Howard St. in Downtown San Francisco.  Gallery hours are Wednesday to Saturday, 11-6pm.  To receive a preview of Learning Curve contact info@firstamendmentgallery.com.
