FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - First Amendment Gallery is pleased to announce “Windows,” a new solo exhibition by Los Angeles-based artist and muralist Maxwell McMaster.

For his highly anticipated second exhibition with First Amendment, McMaster considers more personal and introspective themes reflecting his timeless California-Deco style intertwined with nostalgic whimsy in this 18-piece body of work. With a sentimental perspective and tone, “Windows” gives the viewer a glimpse into McMaster’s world while also contemplating universal moments of serenity and togetherness during a time of unrest and uncertainty.

Maxwell McMaster was born in Sacramento California and currently lives and works in Los Angeles. His work typically takes inspiration from his native state. McMaster uses color shape and texture to enhance and deepen scenes from his travels and everyday life.  The result is typically abstract and minimal in design but somehow complex in  appearance. The images invite the viewer to reflect on life, and its mysteries while reminding us of the beauty in it.

First Amendment Gallery invites you to join us at 1000 Howard St. in San Francisco on Saturday September 19th from 12:00pm to 7:00pm for the opening reception of “Windows” by Maxwell McMaster. Please note that this opening reception will be scheduled 30 minute appointments and require all guests to wear masks. To make a viewing appointment or for inquiries on the artist or available works, please contact daniel@1amsf.com.
